Song of the week: Musik

According to some ESC news sites the Austrian broadcaster ORF has decided they will return to the Eurovision in Helsinki. The reactions of the fans in those sites seems to be mostly positive, although they would rather have Italy back instead of Austria...
I personally welcome Austria back, but to be totally honest their presence in the ESC doesn't make it any more interessanting for me. Just take a close look at their recent entries: a comedian, a male menage a trois and a folk latino group...
Shure they won in 1966 but other them that what do we have? Very little I'm affraid, so to inspire them I've decided to post here what is prehaps the best Austrian entry ever, Musik by Marianne Mendt. This song sang in the Viannese dialect represented Austria in the 1971 contest and ended in 16th place.

Music

Everywhere, where you look around
People make music
Often it's sold as something what it really isn't

Then it's packed nicely
With lights on the top
And it's sent as an escape into paradise

Not the light, not the glamour
Not the show is what music is about
Like the wind, like a dream
It has to be the language of fantasy and freedom

The language that we speak
Is not enough at all
You have to be able to tell someone what you feel

That's why music is made
It won't be different
What's around it, only confuses me

Not the light, not the glamour
Not the show is what music is about
Like the wind, like a dream
It has to be the language of fantasy and freedom

Not the light, not the glamour
Not the show is what music is about
Like the wind, like a dream

It has to be the language of fantasy and freedom
