France: Ils etait temps

France picked its representative for ESC this year in a contest that gathered young singers from France and its dependencies. The winner would sing a song composed previously by Corneille.
The winner of the contest was Virginie Pouchain. She was visibly uncomfortable singing Vous c’est nous and Corneille admitted that he had written the song with a male singer in mind so a new song was written for Virginie.
The first song was completely boring, the new song, Ils etait temps, is much better. Its not so flat and boring, reminds me a bit of American singer Aimme Mann.
I have no idea on how it will score in Athens, but if Virginie doesn’t want to finnish in the end of the scoreboard she cannot give such a liveless performance, like the one she gave on the video. It’s a slow song, I understand that, but the only emotion she transmits when she is singing it is nerves.
Anyway best of luck for France, I miss having a winning song in the French language.
Points for the song: 6 (from 1 to 8, 10 and 12)
And for the video: 1 (form 1 to 5)

Belgium calling… Boring, boring song.
How is it possible that France sends in such a song?
Type of song you hear once and you forget instantly!
I give it 7 points in 20.

Welcoming this song in the Eurovision is Sandrine François, with the last truly great French song, Il faut du temps.
