FYR Macedonia: Ninanajna

Before 2004 the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia was a “in & out” country in the Eurovision. They debuted in 1996 but didn’t qualify for the final in Oslo, so 1998 was Macedonia’s first final. They were relegated in 1999, came back in the contest in 2000 and were relegated again, returning in 2002 only to be relegated again in 2003.
In 2004 they discover the wonders of neighbourhood voting and managed to qualify for the final, being once more relegated to the semi in 2005 where, thanks to the same “strategy”, Martin was able to play is drums in the Kiev final.
This year they will be represented by teen diva Elena Risteka with the song Ninanajna, a song written and composed by Drako Dimitrov.
If all goes according to plan Elena will qualify and I wouldn’t be surprised if this was their best result ever, maybe even a top 10.
The song is very teen pop, Elena is a charming singer and if the performance is as original as the video she will be very successful in Athens. Although the original version in Macedonian was much more attractive to hear them the English one.
Points for the song: 7 (in 1 to 8, 10 and 12)
And for the video: 5(in 1 to 5)

Belgium calling… Another Sertab copy with a hint of Shakira.
Not really a song that invites to sing along.
Very repetitive, much of the same.
I give it 10 points in 20.

Welcoming this song in the competition are XXL with 100% ljubam.
